The first look and title of Jayam Ravi's 28th project, Agilan, was unveiled recently. The film directed by N Kalyana Krishnan will have the actor playing a cargo staff for the first time in his career. The first look poster, which has the tag line 'King of the Indian Ocean’, features the actor donning a uniform which is related to his profession.
The makers have now released a few stills from the film. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays a cop in the movie which has Tanya Ravichandran essaying the role of a house wife.
Screen Scene Media Entertainment Pvt Ltd has produced the project which has music composed by Sam CS. Harish Uthaman and Chirag Jani will also be seen playing pivotal roles in the movie. The latter, too, plays a cop in Agilan.
Kalyana Krishnan and Jayam Ravi had earlier teamed up for Boologam (streaming on YouTube) which released in 2015. According to a source, a few major sequences from Agilan were shot at Thoothukudi. The makers had recently said that larger-than-life visuals of sea will be one of the highlights of the film and that it will be a different experience for movie buffs.
Ravi was last seen in Lakshman's Bhoomi (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) which opted for a direct OTT release last year. The latter is now planning a project with Lawrence, which will be a theatrical release. Ravi has Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, which is expected to release later this year.
Ahmed's long-pending spy thriller Jana Gana Mana, which has been shot in different countries, is another project the actor has pinned hopes on. Taapsee Pannu plays another lead in the movie, the shooting of which got stalled due to the pandemic.
