The late Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, actor-filmmaker Pannaga Bharana and actor Prajwal Devaraj were close buddies, who had been exploring possibilities of collaborating on the professional front as well. When Chiranjeevi then tragically passed away following a massive cardiac arrest, his wife and actress Meghana Raj Sarja was left devastated and contemplating quitting the profession to focus on the care of her son Rayan, who was born a few months later.

Pannaga, though, eventually managed to get Meghana to change her mind, when he came across a script that he thought would be apt for her. Pannaga decided to back a film by debutant writer-director Vishal Atreya, which then became Meghana’s comeback vehicle since losing Chiru and welcoming Rayan into her life. Called Tatsama Tadbhava, the horror thriller also has Prajwal in a pivotal role, which, according to the teaser is that of a police officer investigating the circumstances into the disappearance of Meghana’s character’s husband.

Tatsama Tadbhava has Rajshri Ponnappa, Aravinnd Iyer, Girija Lokesh, TS Nagabharana, Balaji Manohar, Sruthi, Mahathi Vaishnavi Bhat, among others on the cast, while Vasuki Vaibhav fills in as music director. In early July, for Prajwal’s birthday, the team had released a poster of the actor as his character Aravind Ashwatthama, with a note that the film would be in theatres in August. It was, at one point, rumoured to be an August 18 theatrical release, but the team did not confirm this. However, earlier today, Pannaga shared that Tatsama Tadbhava had zeroed in on a date with audiences. The film will release on September 15, two weeks after Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A, in time for the Ganesha Chaturthi long weekend.

The team had earlier said that Tatsama Tadbhava would be a Kannada-Malayalam bilingual, given that Meghana is a popular name in Mollywood as well.
