Director Cheran is making his debut in the OTT space with his upcoming project, Cheran’s Journey. The web series will be streaming on SonyLiv from January 12. All nine episodes will be available on the same day.
R Sarathkumar, Prasanna, Kalaiyarasan, Divyabharathi, Kashyap Barbhaya, Aari Arujunan, Jayaprakash, Jasmine Metivier, Ilavarasu, Narain, Anju Kurian, Vela Ramamoorthi, and Bharani are among the ensemble cast of Cheran’s Journey.
The director himself has written the screenplay for this work. Gunasekar N and Dhakshinamoorthy K have produced the web series under the banner of COMPASS 8 FILMS. Sathya C has composed the music and background score for this web series, while Ekhambaram N K handled the camera work. K J Venkataraman is the editor.
Five applicants are shortlisted for a job in the trailer, which suggests some exciting and thrilling moments. In order to be considered for this position, Nitesh Gupta (Kashyap Barbhaya), Raghav Isakkimuthu (Prasanna), S Pranav (Aari Arujunan), Latha Vijayakumar Reddy (Divyabharathi), and Ameer Sulthan (Kalaiyarasan) must be highly motivated and have no negative marks on their record. For those on the short list, it does not appear to be that simple, though.
Cheran’s 13th directorial

They were drawn to Cheran's earlier works because of the relevance of their subjects and simple storytelling style. His directorial works, Bharathi Kannamma (1997), Porkkaalam (1997), Autograph (2004), and Thavamai Thavamirundhu (2005), are critically acclaimed as well as commercial hits of his career.

Cheran is also known as an actor, lyricist, and producer. He has won six Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for his films, Pokkisham, Autograph, Thavamai Thavamirundhu, Porkkaalam, and Vetri Kodi Kattu. He has also bagged four National Film Awards in categories including Best Film on Other Social Issues, Best Feature Film in Tamil, and Best Film on Family Welfare.
The Thirumanam actor had also taken part in Bigg Boss Tamil's season 3 in 2019.
