Actor Siddharth is all set to have a film release in Tamil after a long time. His upcoming film, Takkar, directed by Karthik G Krish, is all set to release on June 9 and the actor has been promoting the film in a big way. Siddharth said that he is confident that the film will be a hit during the promotions.
"Takkar is an out and out commercial film. There are many fight scenes in it and when I look at it, I realise that the scenes have come out so well that I quite admired my own work. The film's director Karthik G Krish has shown me in a completely different avatar to the contemporary audience and made me look at myself in a whole new way."
The actor was also all praise for his matinee idol, Kamal Haasan. "I am not a Kamal fan, I am obsessed with Kamal sir. He is India's first, greatest, all-time legend and pan-India star. When you say 'pan-India,' it means that wherever an actor goes , he becomes one among them and appeals to everyone. It's not someone who is famous somewhere and you ask everyone to watch his film."
Siddharth also cited an example of a scene from Kamal Haasan's Panchathanthiram. "There is a scene in Panchathanthiram where he speaks four languages effortlessly. To speak a language in their own style, slang and with emotions in a single take, only a handful can even attempt such a scene."
When quizzed if Siddharth ever wanted to recreate a scene of Kamal Haasan, he said, "K Balachander sir (who is a mentor of Kamal Haasan) had called me once and stated that he will remake his film, Manmadhaleelai (which starred Kamal Haasan in the lead. I fell on his feet and said that neither will I remake his film, nor yours. And if there is a film that involves you both, I will definitely not touch it. Because there are some things that are inimitable and no one can recreate them.
