Siddarth's long-delayed Takkar is finally gearing up to hit screens. The film, which is helmed by Karthik G Krish, and stars Divyansha Kaushik as the leading lady, will hit screens on June 9. Siddharth will be seen in a stylish avatar in the film. Karthik G Krish had earlier directed Kappal, which is streaming on Zee5.
The shoot for the film was wrapped around two years ago, but the release got delayed due to the pandemic-induced lockdowns and other issues. The film was supposed to mark the Kollywood debut of Divyansha, who shot to fame with the pan-Indian project Michael, which starred Sundeep Kishan, Vijay Sethupathi and Gautham Menon.
The supporting cast of Takkar includes Abhimanyu Singh, Vigneshkanth, Ramdoss and Yogi Babu. Car racing is said to be a crucial element of the story. While the music is by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography is by Vanchinathan Murugesan and editing is by GA Gowtham. The film is bankrolled by Sudhan and Jayaram under the banner of Passion Studios.
Siddharth and Karthik had teamed up Saithan Ka Bachcha, but the film is lying in the backburner.
Siddharth, in the meantime, is currently busy with his next project, Chithha. The first-look poster of the film was launched today by none other than Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, whom Siddharth considers his mentor. The film is helmed by SU Arunkumar.
Siddharth had earlier shared his excitement about Kamal Haasan wishing the team. He had written on his social media handle, "A DREAM COME TRUE My God of Cinema giving his blessing to our most ambitious film yet. Thank you universe. Kamal sir will reveal the first look and Title of our Production No. 4. Thank you so much, great sir (sic)."
Siddharth will also be seen with his Rang De Basanti co-star Madhavan, in the film Test, which is billed as a sports drama. Nayanthara will play the leading lady in the film. Siddharth also has in the pipeline, his maiden project with Kamal Haasan, Indian 2.
