Actor-producer Daali Dhananjaya’s third home venture is Tagaru Palya, a film in which his good pal Nagabhushana plays the lead. After headlining his first two productions, Dhananjaya has stepped out of the limelight with this project, but just because he’s not acting in it, his involvement in the film is not any less. In fact, Dhananjaya has contributed as lyricist for the film’s all important title track, which was released today, on the occasion of leading man Nagabhushana’s birthday.

Aimed at transporting audiences into the heart of the film’s narrative, the Tagaru Palya title track has fleeting glimpses of the cast, including Nagabhushana, Amrutha Prem, Tara, Rangayana Raghu, among others, as well as the village setting of the story and the temple tradition that it focuses on. Composed by Vasuki Vaibhav, the song sung by Vijay Prakash and Jogila Siddaraju has impressed audiences, with a lot of praise pouring in for Dhananjaya’s wizardry with words that set the tone of the film.

“Wonderful lyrics”, “Daali lines are always 🔥”, “Amazing lyrics and music”, were some of the common comments accompanying the song. Tagaru Palya, meanwhile, is the launch pad not only for director Umesh, but also the leading lady, Amrutha, who is actor Nenapirali Prem’s daughter . Dhananjaya, who is seen as the champion of the cause of actors from non-filmi backgrounds, had faced some backlash over the choice of heroine, but had defended the decision. He had said that while star kids may find it easier to get into the industry, their survival thereafter will depend entirely on whether he/she is talented or not. The nepotism debate, he added, could not be reason to deny a genuinely talented star kid an opportunity.

The film, meanwhile, is being speculated to be a Rajyotsava release, in November this year. It is Nagabhushana’s third outing as leading man , after Ikkat and Made in China. The actor was last seen in a pivotal supporting role in Kousalya Supraja Rama.
