Having begun his journey as a film producer with the drama actioner Badava Rascal, Daali Dhananjaya followed it up with a starkly contrasting period gangster film in the form of Head Bush. He would announce in the same breath that his production house Daali Pictures is keen not only to make films but also to work with enterprising talent from across Karnataka, vowing to launch a new artist every year. The first endeavour in this pursuit took the shape of 'Tagaru Palya', a comedy-drama set in rural Karnataka that is now making heads turn all over for its unique setting and abundant quirks.

Among the many who are showering praise on the film is Telugu writer and filmmaker Ram Vamsi Krishna, who took to social media a short while ago to express his delight after watching the film. 'The India House' director is evidently so impressed with Tagaru Palya that he would describe the film as the 'Balagam' of Kannada cinema, meaning that the film brims with not just nativity and idiosyncrasies but also relatable characters.

"#Tagarupalya is Balagam of Kannada cinema. Though it’s set in heartland Karnataka, you relate with the rituals & characters you see on screen with people you’ve seen in your village in AP. And that’s the invisible fabric which keeps India together irrespective of language," said Ram Vamsi Krishna in his tweet.

In the same vein, he would also highlight the performances of the central cast including Nagabhushana, Rangayana Raghu, Tara and debutant Amrutha Prem, while also lauding Vasuki Vaibhav's efforts as the music composer and Dhananjaya's own 'sahitya' as the lyricist.

"@drbhushana‘s honest portrayal as Chikka, Rangayan Raghu and Taramma’s life like performance, Amrutha Prem’s innocence, Vasuki’s music and 🥜made the film endearing. As always, my brother Daali’s Sahithya breathes life into it. Hatrick to Daali pictures," added Ram Vamsi Krishna.

Of course, many would know that Ram Vamsi Krishna and Dhananjaya have previously collaborated on the 2018 action film 'Bhairava Geetha' which was written by the latter and had the Kannada actor playing the lead. Ram Vamsi Krishna will soon make his directorial debut with the period film The India House starring Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupam Kher.
