The popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s actor Shailesh Lodha has now won a lawsuit against show’s producer Asit Modi over the non-payment of his dues

The last few months have been extremely challenging for the lovers of the extremely popular TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. The show’s producer Asit Modi was blamed by a prominent actress from the show, wherein she had alleged mental harassment and sexual harassment against Asit Modi. Post which, there were a few other actors who came in support of the said actor. Prior to that, many fans of the popular show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ were in for a huge shock after the news of Shailesh Lodha quitting the show after a span of 14 long years got reported in the media.
Even though Shailesh Lodha, who played the titular role/ central character of the show did not reveal any specific reason for quitting the show, all that he said at that time was that, he will speak about it when the time was right. It was only revealed later that, the reason for him to leave the popular show was because of the non-clearance of his dues by the show’s producer Asit Modi. After leaving the show, Shailesh Lodha had filed a lawsuit against Asit Modi for not clearing his dues. Shailesh Lodha had approached National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for the clearance of his dues. And today, the verdict is out and it came out in favour of Shailesh Lodha.
As per a report in Zoom Entertainment, Shailesh Lodha won the lawsuit regarding the non-payment of dues against ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s producer Asit Modi. The same report stated that, as per the settlement terms, a total amount of Rs. 1,05,84,000/- are being paid by the way of Demand Draft by Asit Modi to Shailesh Lodha. Speaking to Bombay Times, Shailesh Lodha said, “This fight was never about the money. It was about seeking justice and self-respect. I feel like I have won a battle and I’m happy that the truth has prevailed."
Meanwhile, Asit Modi has not commented on the said matter so far.
