Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Did Asit Kumarr Modi hint at Palak Sindhwani's lack of discipline?

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been one of the most loved shows on television. Despite its controversies, the audiences enjoy watching the TV serial. In 2024, the show made several headlines for all the wrong reasons. One of the main highlights was Palak Sindhwani’s sudden exit from the show. She played the role of Sonu Bhide and was highly adored by the viewers. However, things got worse when Palak accused the makers of TMKOC of mental harassment and non-payment. Now, in a new interview, Asit Kumarr Modi has reacted to her exit from the show.

While speaking to News18 Showsha, Modi indirectly hinted at Palak's lack of discipline. He said, "Everyone has to work in a discipline. I am also making a show for Sab TV. I also work with dignity. I have a contract with them. Similarly, artists also have contracts with me. We have to make 26 episodes every month. There has to be a discipline. It can’t depend on your mood. Everyone is working. This is one of the reasons."

He further also spoke about her breaking the contract. Reportedly, Palak was accused of breaking her exclusivity contract. Asit Modi said that no one can break the contract and it is unacceptable. He continued, "People know you because of your character. Whether it is Palak or somebody else. Abdul’s real name is Sharad but people call him Abdul Bhai. Artists are known by their character’s names. We have positive characters. We have loving characters. If somebody goes and advertises anything, it will impact our show’s image. Everyone works within a contract. I also have to work within a limit. You cannot break your contract."

Taking a dig at Palak, he added, "Jab voh kuch bhi bol dete hai toh bura lagta hai. But unki umar kya? Kya samajh hai unko? Bolne do. Baat mein koi aisa dum nahi hai."

He even spoke about the legal notice and revealed that the lawyers tried to explain her things in a good way, but she ended up creating a 'fuss out of nothing'. Modi also added that he was not against her working anywhere else but she should have asked him and the makers.
