Gurucharan Singh Sodhi was an integral part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actor played the role of Roshan Sodhi in the sitcom. Produced by Asit Kumarr Modi, the show has been running successfully on television for 16 years. Gurucharan initially quit the show in 2012 and later rejoined TMKOC. However, his journey with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah finally ended in 2020. In a recent interview, producer Asit mentioned it was Gurucharan's personal decision to leave the show.

In an interview with Times of India, Asit Kumarr Modi called Gurucharan Singh Sodhi a 'good person' and said he is emotionally connected to him. The producer added that his wife and kids love the actor. Talking about Gurucharan's exit from TMKOC, Asit mentioned that he never asked him to leave the show.

"He decided to leave the show on his own. It was his decision, we never asked him to go. He also feels now that he should have been a part of the show and he likes the show. It's been 16 years to TMKOC and people have their personal reasons to leave the show and you can't expect anyone to be a part of your show forever," shared Asit.
The producer mentioned that it is a big achievement that most of the TMKOC actors are still associated with the sitcom. Modi added that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is not a money-making machine but an emotion. "It's been 16 years to the show and people have evolved so have I. Looks wise also people have changed, kids who joined the show have now grown up," he revealed.
