Taapsee Pannu sparkles as Rani in Haseen Dillruba, watch new promo

Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey and Harshavardhan Rane-starrer Haseen Dillruba has been in the news for the right reasons, ever since its trailer released on June 11. The premise of the murder mystery thriller leaves a viewer curious, with the three pivotal characters entangled in a web of love, lies and deceit. 

Earlier in the day, Netflix released a character promo, introducing Taapsee Pannu’s character as Rani Kashyap. Take a look.

Rani is seen lifting books from her favourite author, Dinesh Pandit, which provide crucial links to the story (the author’s name was mentioned in the trailer as well). Rani goes on to mention that she hates doing household chores but is well- mannered, while talking to Rishu, played by Vikrant Massey. The promo then cuts right to their wedding scene. Rani is insistent on a love marriage. In the next scene, she gets post marriage advice from an older woman. The promo shifts its focus to Rani’s extramarital affair with (Harshvardhan Rane’s on screen character) Neel Tripathi. Then it jumps straight to a fiery scene with a small blast, where Massey seemingly loses his life, landing Rani in deep trouble with the police concluding that she had conspired with her lover to kill her husband.

From the trailer, it is quite evident that nothing is what it seems. The movie, to release on July 2, has been written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Vinil Mathew.
