Taapsee Pannu opened up about her initial days in the industry and revealed she was told to look and behave in a certain way to work with big names. She had appeared in several Telugu and Tamil films before she made her breakthrough in Bollywood.
The Thappad actor told Cosmopolitan India that she made sure not to repeat her mistakes and failures once she started cementing her career with Hindi films.

She was told to look ultra-glam and to be the diva so that she could work alongside big heroes and reach tops. She also added that she tried to change herself to appear more glamorous and a little dumb, since looking good equals no brains, according to the societal norm.
Believing is what she was told, the actress had taken up certain roles which fit her in the norms, during those times. But she seems to have realised very quickly that those films just didn’t work for her, after which she decided to go out of the box. Choosing not to be ‘heroine like’, she started to pick up unconventional roles, which worked better for her in terms of being aspirational. She also added that she learnt it while working in the South.
