Taanakkaran Twitter review: Netizens all praise for ‘engaging’ story about police system, hail Vikram Prabhu’s performance

Taanakkaran had its direct-to-OTT release yesterday and it certainly got the fans talking. The unique story of the cop drama, riveting performances of Vikram Prabhu and the cast, as well as Tamizh’s direction were applauded by viewers. Twitter erupted with fans making their opinions known about the film.

The film’s premise and story seemed to receive unanimous praise from netizens. Viewers found the film’s plot, of a police trainee standing up to his superiors and calling them out for their ruthless training practices, an ‘innovative’ and ‘engaging’ theme for a cop drama. While one user called it a ‘must watch’ because of the screenplay, another was impressed by the ‘hard hitting’ and ‘emotional’ manner of storytelling by director Tamizh.

The film also had users questioning the police system as well, wondering if it was time to usher in reforms. One user appreciated how clearly the film showcased the hurdles police trainees have to go through. A user also talked about how difficult it was to watch this movie.
