Taali on OTT: When and where to watch Sushmita Sen’s hard-hitting series

Right from the time Sushmita Sen knocked at the doors of Bollywood with ‘Dastak’ (ironically though), there has been absolutely no looking back. One look at the repertoire of Sushmita Sen, one thing is very clear that, this former beauty queen has never shied away from anything that will require her to push the limits. Be it the ‘other woman’ in ‘Biwi No. 1’ or the sizzling teacher in ‘Main Hoon Naa’ or even her role as Aarya Sareen in the Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Aarya’… this lady has been there done that. And now, for all those who were missing her in action, here is some piece of good news for you. The sunning Sushmita Sen will now be seen in the hard-hitting series ‘Taali’. Sushmita will be seen in the role of Shreegauri Sawant, who happens to be India’s most celebrated transgender.

While the series has been created by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar, it has been directed by the National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav. The hard - hitting series has been written by Kshitij Patwardhan, and produced by Arjun Singgh Baran, Kartk D Nishandar (GSEAMS Production) and Afeefa Nadiadwala.

‘Taali’ is now all set to be released on the leading OTT platform JioCinema on August 15 this year. Besides Sushmita Sen, ‘Taali’ also boats of a stellar cast comprising Ankur Bhatia, Hemangi Kavi, Aishwarya Narkar, Krutika Deo, Suvrat Joshi, Nitish Rathore, Shaan Kakkar, and Meenakshi Chugh. As for the streaming, the series will be streamed primarily in Hindi.

Looking back, while sharing the most-awaited first look of the series on social media, Sushmita Sen captioned the post as, “Taali #firstlook as #ShreegauriSawant. Nothing makes me prouder & more grateful than to have the privilege of portraying this beautiful person & of bringing her story to the world!! Here’s to life & to everyone’s right to live it with dignity!!! I love you guys!!! #duggadugga”.

And, just a couple of days back, Sushmita Sen posted a collage of ‘Taali’ moments on her social media. She captioned it stating, “Sushmita Sen captioned the post stating, ““Tu laakh gira de bijli mujhpe, main toh satrang banu” Revisiting the #Taali moments that will always stay with me. #TaaliOnJioCinema streaming free Aug 15”.
