Taali First Look: Sushmita Sen unveils her look as social activist Gauri Sawant in the upcoming web series

Sushmita Sen is back on screen again for a web series. This time, the actor is set to be seen in a never-seen-before avatar. Yes, Sushmita will be seen playing the role of Gauri Sawant, the iconic transwoman social activist. The actor took to her social media pages and shared her first look from the upcoming series. She also announced that the filming for the series titled Taali has commenced.

In the first look photo, Sushmita is seen donning a fierce look wearing a green saree and a red blouse with rudraksha and a red bindi. She finished her look with a dark red lip and hair tied in a bun. The actor is seen posing while clapping, citing the title of the series.

For the uninitiated, transgender rights campaigner Gauri Sawant is from Mumbai, India. She is the founder and director of Sakhi Char Chowghi, an organisation that supports transgender and HIV/AIDS patients. She was portrayed in a Vicks commercial. She was appointed the Maharashtra Election Commission's goodwill ambassador.

Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartik D Nishandar are the producers of the next web series for Global Sports Entertainment and Media Solutions.

Meanwhile, Sushmita is also gearing up to shoot for the third season of Aarya, which streams on Disney+ Hotstar.

In the meantime, Mansi Bagla of Mini Films and photographer Subi Samuel's Bungalow No 84, partnered by Soham Rockstar Entertainment, have purchased the rights to a biopic that Sushmita has also signed. By the end of the year, production on the movie is expected to begin.
