And for Rohit Sharma and Shakib Al Hasan, the ongoing ICC event has proven to be extra special as they earn a rather coveted feat to their names. The Indian captain and his counterpart from Bangladesh are the only two cricketers who have participated in every edition of the T20 Men's World Cup to date and astonishingly, have retained their respective spots for 15 years on the trot.

Rohit and Shakib are also two of the most capped players in the T20 Men's World Cup history with the former taking the top spot with 37 appearances to his name. Shakib Al Hasan, on the other hand, has played 35 games so far and has remained a towering presence in Bangladeshi cricket for more than 16 years.

West Indian Dwayne Bravo, Pakistani all-rounders Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik, and Aussie opening batsman David Warner have also proven to be among the most prolific with 34 World Cup appearances.

35-year-old Shakib also has taken the most wickets as a bowler with as many as 46 scalps to his name along with the most four-wicket hauls in the history of the tournament. Rohit Sharma, in the same vein, is among the top run-getters in T20 World Cups with 921 runs and is currently only behind Chris Gayle (965), Mahela Jayawardene (1016), and Virat Kohli (1065*).

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian men into the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament with England or New Zealand as their prospective opponents. Thanks to South Africa's shocking defeat to the Dutch, Babar Azam's Pakistan XI will be the fourth team to make it to the semis and should things align as anticipated, the 2022 ICC T20 Men's World Cup will have an India - Pakistan final to close things off on a mighty high!
