Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour concert film has achieved a significant box office milestone, surpassing $250 million in global revenue. With $178.2 million generated domestically and $71.8 million internationally, the film stands as the 19th highest-grossing release of 2023 worldwide. It recently overtook, Sound of Freedom, which collected $248 million and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which collected $208 million in terms of global revenue. Within North America, The Eras Tour has become the eleventh-biggest release of the year, surpassing Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which collected $172 million and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which collected $174 million.
Eras Tour is the first ever concert film that made history by garnering such a collection, and becoming the highest grosser of all time.
The Eras Tour concert film ticket prices
According to reports, unlike most films that play throughout the week, The Eras Tour was initially restricted to Thursday through Sunday showings, limiting audience flexibility. Additionally, the film's ticket prices exceeded the average movie ticket cost. Swift priced adult admission at $19.89, which is a reference to her birth year 1989, while children and seniors paid $13.13, referencing her self-proclaimed lucky number. These numerically coded fees, higher than the nation's average ticket price, may have offset the limited screening schedule.
The Eras Tour will be available online
On November 27, Taylor announced on social media that her Eras Tour film can now be streamed online on her birthday, which is December 13. The interesting part is, this online streaming will also include three more songs, which are not there in the original theatrical release.
