Surprise! Varisu team drops a new still of Vijay along with update on first single

​It has indeed been an exciting morning for Thalapathy Vijay fans. The makers of Thalapathy's Varisu dropped a hint that an update will be out today. And by 10.45am, the team revealed that the promo of the first single will be released today at 6.30pm. Ever since the news has been announced,  Vijay fans are an excited lot. The production house also dropped a new poster of Vijay in which he is seen shaking a leg to the tunes of the musicians playing in the background.
They makers wrote, "The much-awaited #VarisuFirstSingle promo is releasing Today at 6:30 PM Stay Tuned nanba #Thalapathy @actorvijay sir @directorvamshi @iamRashmika @MusicThaman #BhushanKumar #KrishanKumar #ShivChanana @TSeries #Varisu #VarisuPongal (sic)."

With the film lined up for release for Pongal, the makers are gradually dropping one update after the other. It was only recently that they had released a series of pictures of Vijay from the film. Varisu marks Vijay's maiden venture with Thozha director Vamshi Paidipally and Geetha Govindam actress Rashmika Mandanna.  The film has an ensemble star cast which includes Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Srikanth, Ganesh Venkatram, Khushbu, Meena, Sneha, Sangeetha and Samyuktha. Dance sequences have been choreographed by Jani.

Music for the film is by Thaman and Varisu marks his maiden collaboration with Vijay. Varisu is touted to be a family drama-cum- action entertainer, written by Vamshi, Hari and Ashishor Solomon. While the cinematography is by Karthik Palani, editing is by Praveen KL. Though the film is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual (Varasudu in Telugu), the makers had announced Varisu has been shot only in Tamil. The film has been produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations production banner.

Varisu will hit screens for Pongal and will take on Ajith's heist thriller Thunivu directed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. It is said to be a firecracker of a Pongal in 2023, with two of the biggies releasing on the occasion.
