Suriya has finally made an appearance in the Sarfira trailer which was dropped today. The Akshay Kumar-Sudha Kongara film stars the actor in a cameo role.

Suriya has been enjoying a long break from cinema for the past two years. The National Award-winner last made an onscreen appearance in Vikram, the blockbuster movie in which he played the cold-blooded villain Rolex. Suriya was seen in a cameo appearance in the recently released Sarfira trailer. The movie, which is co-produced by the actor himself, is an official remake of his National Award-winning film Soorarai Pottru. Akshay Kumar is playing the lead role in the film directed by Sudha Kongara.

The netizens, especially the Tamil cinema lovers are extremely happy and excited to have the ‘Nadippin Nayagan’ back, after his two-year-long break from the films. For the uninitiated, Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira trailer features the National Award-winning actor in a special appearance, as one of the flight passengers. Suriya looks handsome as always in the trailer in navy blue three-piece suit, and a pair of sunglasses that remind us of his Soorarai Pottru character, Nedumaaran Rajangam aka Maara.

The cine-goers, who have been celebrating Suriya’s grand comeback to the screens with the Sarfira trailer, are now eagerly waiting to see him share the screen with Akshay Kumar in the film. For the uninitiated, Sarfira marks the grand Bollywood debut of the talented actor-producer's home banner, 2D Entertainment. The movie is directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed Soorarai Pottru. Radhikka Madan is portraying the character played by Aparna Balamurali in the original, in the upcoming film.
Suriya’s massive line-up
The National award-winner will be next seen in Kanguva, the most-awaited fantasy action film directed by Siva. The movie which stars Suriya in a double role has been slated to hit the big screens during the Deepavali season of 2024. A major update on the film (most probably the Kanguva teaser) might be released very soon. For the uninitiated, the popular star stayed away from the big screens for two years, as he was busy filming for Kanguva.
The actor is currently busy filming his 44th outing, which has been tentatively titled Suriya 44, at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Suriya is joining hands with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj for the film, which is touted to be a period drama. Later, Suriya will reunite with Sudha Kongara for a project, which was originally supposed to mark his 43rd outing in Tamil cinema. However, both Suriya 43 and another most anticipated film of the actor - Vaadivaasal, directed by Vetrimaaran – have been put on hold due to production issues.
