Suriya meets with an accident on the sets of Karthik Subbaraj’s Suriya 44; Here's what we know

Suriya is teaming up with talented filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, for his 44th outing in Tamil cinema. The highly anticipated project, which is touted to be a period action drama, has been tentatively titled Suriya 44. The cast and crew members reportedly kickstarted the second schedule shooting of the film recently, in Ooty. If the recent updates are to be believed, Suriya met with a minor accident on the sets of the film, and the shooting has been temporarily suspended due to the same.

According to the latest reports, Suriya met with a minor accident on the sets of the upcoming Karthik Subbaraj directorial, while shooting an intense action sequence. The grapevine suggests that the National Award-winning actor suffered a minor injury on his head, and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. The cast and crew members decided to put the filming on hold after the doctor advised the actor to take complete rest for a few days.

Suriya is recovering well

Recently, producer Rajsekar Pandian confirmed that Suriya’s injury is not serious, and the actor is recovering well. “Dear Anbana fans, It was a minor injury. Pls don’t worry, Suriya Anna is perfectly fine with all your love and prayers,” write Pandian on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The producer’s new update came out as a big relief for the Surya fans and cine-goers, who were worried about the actor’s condition.

Suriya 44 title reveal soon?

If the reports are to be believed, Suriya is reportedly playing the role of a gangster in the untitled film, which stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead. Suriya 44 stars Jayaram, Karunakaran, and Joju George in the other pivotal roles. Santhosh Narayanan is composing songs and the original score. Shreyaas Krishna is the director of photography. Shafique Mohamed Ali handles the editing. Jacki heads the production design team. Suriya 44 is bankrolled by Suriya’s home banner, 2D Entertainment.
