If the buzz on social media is to be believed, the pre-production work of Vaadi Vaasal has begun. The CG team that worked in James Cameron's Avatar is said to have been roped in for the film. Fans of Suriya have been sharing their excitement about the same. It is to be noted that the same team has done the digital works for films like Batman, Godzilla and Kingkong.
Vaadi Vaasal, which will have Suriya teaming up with Vetri Maaran for the first time, is one of the most awaited films in the Tamil film industry. Suriya is all set to play a Jallikattu bull tamer for the first time in his career. He is even rearing two bulls to get into the skin of the character. The look test of Suriya was held in early 2021, but the shoot got delayed due to the pandemic.
The film is based on CS Chellappa's novel Vaadivaasal. The novel captures the cultural significance of the bull taming sport, caste hierarchies involved in it, feudalism and patriarchy as well.
It was not long ago that speculations were rife that the film has been dropped since there were no updates about the same. However, the film's producer Kalaipuli Thanu had then dismissed all that as a rumour. He had also stated that the pre-production work had begun. He had also stated that the film was being made on a grand scale. The news has come as a huge relief for fans. GV Prakash is said to be composing the music for the film.
Vetri Maaran was busy with the shooting of Viduthalai, which is being released in two parts. The film stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. The team recently dropped pictures from the dubbing session. On the other hand, Suriya is currently filming for his next with Siva. Soon after he wraps up the portions, he will join Vetri Maaran's Vaadi Vaasal.
