Suriya 44 cast - Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj welcome THESE actors on board

Suriya, the National award-winning actor is teaming up with acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj for his 44th outing in Tamil cinema. The highly anticipated project, which is touted to be an action thriller, has been tentatively titled Suriya 44. Recently, the makers of the much-awaited project put an end to the rumours by announcing two cast members of the film. Pooja Hegde has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Suriya in the film, which will feature Jayaram in a pivotal role.

Pooja Hegde to play the female lead in Suriya 44

Recently, the cast and crew members of Suriya 44, including director Karthik Subbaraj, took to their respective social media handles and made a major update on the project’s female lead, Pooja Hegde. The filmmaker welcomed the popular actress on board with a special announcement poster and a special note. “Delighted to welcome @hegdepooja for #Suriya44 Welcome onboard #LoveLaughterWar,” reads Karthik Subbaraj’s X (formerly Twitter) post. With the big announcement, the makers of Suriya 44 finally put an end to the rumors on the project’s leading lady.

Jayaram joins Suriya 44

Later, Karthik Subbaraj and the team also welcomed senior actor Jayaram on board, with a special announcement post. “A man who breathes versatility and humor!! He lives in his performances. #Jayaram joins the talents of #Suriya44. Welcome onboard sir,” wrote the filmmaker on his X (formerly Twitter) post. As per the reports, the celebrated Malayalam actor, who is also a familiar face for Tamil cinema audiences, is playing a pivotal role in the film. Jayaram is expected to join Suriya for the first schedule of the film, which is set to go on floors soon.

As per the recent updates, the first schedule of Suriya 44 is set to go on floors in Port Blair, the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, very soon. The technical crew kickstarted the construction of sets in Port Blair, a few days back. The recent updates suggest that Suriya and Jayaram will shoot for some major portions of the film, including a high-voltage action sequence, in the city. Suriya 44 is bankrolled by Suriya and Jyotika, under the banner 2D Entertainment.
