Suriya 43 update: Suriya and Sudha Kongara’s action drama slated to start rolling in December

Suriya and Sudha Kongara, who earned immense love for their first collaboration, Soorarai Pottru, are teaming up again. The duo’s upcoming project, which has been touted as an action drama, is tentatively titled Suriya 43. The makers announced the lead star cast of the movie with a partial title reveal video recently. Now, the latest updates suggest that the project is now gearing up to go on floors.

Suriya 43 to go on floors in December

The much-awaited project, which reportedly features Suriya in the role of a gangster, is set to go on floors in December. Director Sudha Kongara and her team are planning to start the shooting of the project with a brief schedule in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. If the reports are to be believed, the Madurai schedule of the project will be wrapped up in 15 days. After that, the team might go on a break before beginning the next shooting schedule.

Ahead of the first shooting schedule, the production team of Suriya 43 is currently busy with pre-production work in Madurai. As per the latest updates, a massive set has been erected in the city for the shooting of the Sudha Kongara directorial, which is reportedly set in the mid-1960s in Tamil Nadu.

The unique title of Suriya and Sudha Kongara’s action drama

Interestingly, the Suriya 43 team revealed only the second half of the project’s official title, which read ‘Purananooru’. For the uninitiated, the word Purananooru refers to the last installment of the eight Sangam literature anthologies. From the second half of the title of Suriya 43, it is evident that Sudha Kongara and her team are gearing up to make an out-and-out action movie that largely revolves around the concept of ‘heroism’.

Suriya 43: Cast and crew

Suriya is playing the protagonist in the Sudha Kongara directorial, which features popular actor Dulquer Salmaan in a pivotal role. Nazriya Nazim Fahadh is appearing as the female lead in the untitled project. Bollywood actor Vijay Varma is set to make his Tamil debut with the prestigious project as the lead antagonist. GV Prakash Kumar composes the music for the project, which is bankrolled by Suriya’s home banner, 2D Entertainment.
