For the first time in seven years, Suresh Gopi will have theatrical releases in a year in 2022. The veteran superstar has Joshiy’s Paappan and Jibu Jacob’s Mei Hoom Moosa, set to hit theatres this year. The last time the actor had more than one releases in theatres was in 2015 when he starred n Rudra Simhasanam and My God.

While the superstar has completed dubbing for Joshiy’s Paappan, he is currently shooting for Jibu Jacob’s film. The latter, which is touted to be a big budget entertainer, also has Poonam Bajwa as the female protagonist.

Mei Hoom Moosa, which went on floors in March, had two major schedules in Punjab and Delhi. The team had shot in Amritsar in March and had shot for a few weeks in Kerala later on. The movie is currently slated for a September 30 release, following the crowded Onam season in theatres.

While the makers have kept most of the details about the upcoming movie under wraps, Suresh Gopi apparently plays his age in the movie. The leaked photos from the film’s sets in Amritsar revealed the actor in an aged-avatar wearing a shabby kurta as part of his look in the movie.

Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi’s Pappaan is gearing up for release. As per reports, the movie is expected to hit theatres in July. Scripted by RJ Shaan, the movie has the actor playing a retired cop who is pulled back to his former job to investigate a case related to his past.

The film has Neeta Pillai essaying the role of his daughter. Suresh Gopi’s son Gokul Suresh will also be sharing screen space with him for the first time in the upcoming crime drama, which has the veteran actor playing two phases of life of his character Abraham Mathew Mathan. Pappan also has Kaniha, Asha Sharath, Rahul Madhav and Vijayaraghavan in pivotal roles.
