And now, a picture of Rajinikanth reading his lines and dubbing for them has hit the internet. The actor is seen going through his lines carefully in the dubbing studio. The addition of new scenes has piqued the curiosity among the fans of the actor. The film, helmed by Suresh Krissna is also likely to get some major digital enhancements. The buzz is that the re-released version will hit screens on the occasion of Superstar Rajinikanth's birthday on December 12.

In an interview with a regional YouTube channel, the film's director Suresh Krishna is seen saying it was Superstar Rajinikanth's idea to re-release the film. Talking to the portal, the director said, "Rajinikanth sir had asked me to watch the entire film once again. After I watched it, he asked if I liked it. I said, "Of course, I liked when we made the film 20 years ago. That's when he asked, "How would it be if they re-released the film?"

Baba, hit screens exactly 20 years ago in 2022. Rajinikanth plays the titular character, an atheist, who is blessed by the Mahavtar Baba. Ramya Krishnan appears in a cameo and reprises her character Neelambari from Padayappa.
