Superman: Legacy maker James Gunn shuns rumours around ‘terrorist threat in Middle East’ plot and reveals details about new suit

Every average comic book fan at this point across the world is hooked on what James Gunn is cooking with his new DCU, especially with his first project as the boss, Superman: Legacy. The filmmaker has been working on the David Corenswet starrer in full swing and also sharing sneak peeks into the process on his social media front. This time around, when he shared the picture of the wall in his production office covered with all things Superman, he also decided to answer some fan questions and clarify things. 

James Gunn shared the post on his Instagram handle and wrote in the caption, “Wall in my production office #supermanlegacy. Fans were quick to line up in the comment sections with their questions and shot several questions, including about the arc, which characters to expect, and more. But the ones that stood out were that asking about the rumored “terrorist threat in the Middle East” storyline being included and the one about the suit. 

James Gunn’s Revelations

While James Gunn also answered some more questions, two answers made waves. When asked about the Middle East angle being rumored to be in Superman: Legacy, James shunned the rumors then and there saying, “it isn’t true”. When asked about when we can expect to see the new Superman Suit, Gunn wrote, “definitely not until after we’re filming.” While he hasn’t confirmed whether he means after the wrap or just the commencement. Either ways we will have to wait.

About Superman: Legacy

Meanwhile, Superman: Legacy stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, who is replacing Henry Cavill as the Blue Boy Scout. Rachel Brosnahan joins him as Lois Lane. The movie will also introduce The Authority as the main villain of the film is said to be The Engineer. Maria Gabriela de Faria has been cast to play the part. 

Meanwhile, the movie is the first live-action project that will come out of the James Gunn and Peter Safran reign. It is the second project in DCU’s Chapter One: God’s And Monsters after Creature Commandos. Superman: Legacy is set for a July 11, 2025 release as of now. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more.
