The curiosity around James Gunn and Peter Safran’s revamped DC wing of Warner Bros is immense because everyone wants to know every bit of what’s cooking in the DCU. The biggest chunk of the spotlight at the moment is on Superman: Legacy , the first live-action film from the kitty of the two new leaders. Directed by James Gunn, the movie has a houseful of characters involved. New reports have now suggested that even Supergirl has some participation and she will not be played by Sasha Calle.

What Exactly Happened?

The biggest news yesterday was that Superman: Legacy starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane in the lead will also feature Supergirl. But what became the highlight of the news was the update that it will not be played by Sasha Calle. Sasha played the character in The Flash recently and was praised for it.

But the news that she will no longer be associated with Supergirl in James and Peter’s DCU left the fans upset. Many have expressed their anger on the internet as they want to see Calle reprise the character even in the new DCU.

What’s The Latest Update?

While we already know Sasha Calle will not be reprising Supergirl in DCU and Superman: Legacy, this means there will be a new actor cast to fill in the part. Now as per the latest update on the Comic Book Movie, James Gunn and team are looking for a White actor to play the part. She will have blonde hair and blue eyes as per scooper DCULeaks. The idea is to cast a comic-accurate-looking star.

The studio is looking for a girl between 18-25 to play the part and one in the younger end will be of priority. Sasha Calle is already 28.

What is Supergirl: Women Of Tomorrow?

However, while Supergirl will have a pivotal part to play in Superman: Legacy, she also has a film dedicated to her standalone in Chapter One: Gods and Monsters of DCU. This means the actor who is cast for Legacy with mostly continue to play the part in the standalone movie as well. The report says that the casting for the Women Of Tomorrow won’t be finalized until a director is hired for the project.

Superman: Legacy is set for a July 11, 2025 release. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more.
