Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari announcement - Varun Dhawan-Janhvi Kapoor to create 'bawaal' in Shashank Khaitan style rom-com

For the past few days, several reports have been making the rounds about Karan Johar bringing back the Dulhania franchise with Shashank Khaitan at the helm. Reports indicated that Varun Dhawan would reunite with his Bawaal co-actor, Janhvi Kapoor, for the film instead of Alia Bhatt. Well, the report has turned out to be true, but it's not an extension of the Dulhania franchise. KJo announced a new film titled Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

In a video, the filmmaker revealed that Varun and Janhvi will play the titular roles in the film, set against the backdrop of India's heartland. Karan also announced that the film will hit the big screens in 2025.

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor reunite after Bawaal for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari

As per an earlier report by Pinkvilla, those in the know have heard that Varun and Janhvi are talking about reuniting for a romantic comedy that Shashank Khaitan will helm. When Shashank and Varun team up, people automatically think it's a Dulhania film. A new romantic comedy with an eccentric title has been in the works for the past year, and Shashank is currently in the casting process with Varun and Janhvi. According to an insider, the film would be the classical romantic comedy for which the Hindi cinema industry has become famous.

The filmmaker is currently considering a number of stars to cast, with Varun and Janhvi serving as the film's lead actors. Production on the Karan Johar film will begin in earnest in India, at actual locations, in September 2024. The crew is now polishing the script in preparation for its release at the tail end of September 2024. According to the insider, there will be a significant release in 2025 that honours partnerships and love with a tadka.

Just a few months after the release of Nitesh Tiwari's Bawaal, Varun and Janhvi have reunited, making their second outing together with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
