Filmmakers who were popular in the 1990s are now aiming to turn their cult films into a franchise as a result of Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 becoming an all-time hit. Earlier, there were reports that JP Dutta's Border 2 is on the cards with Sunny Deol, and now we learned that Khal Nayak, the 1993 smash starring Sanjay Dutt, will have a sequel from director Subhash Ghai.

Recently, Ghai discussed the prospect of a Khal Nayak sequel, which starred Sanjay Dutt. According to News18, Ghai responded, “We have iconic films like Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, these films are still relevant. Now, in Khal Nayak, if Ballu Balram comes on screen, how will that be? Then why should any producer not think of reviving and move the story ahead? So, definitely, Khal Nayak and other films are being discussed."

Ghai added that they have had offers from other studios, but they are highly business-oriented, and that his team is considering how to improve on what they currently have.

This year Khalnayak (1993) turned 30 on August 6. The crime drama, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, and Jackie Shroff, stands out because of the performances, storyline and the unique musical score. The fact that Sanjay Dutt was in jail when the movie came out only served to increase its popularity.
