The makers of Aranmanai 4 had recently released the trailer of the film and confirmed that it will hit big screens in April. While a release date has not yet been revealed, it is said that the horror comedy film will release on April 26, clashing with Vishal-starrer Rathnam.
Aranmanai 4 vs Rathnam?
While it is known that the Tamil industry has been going on in its lull phase with only sporadic success in form of Blue Star and Lover this year, the box office is set to ramble towards the holidays season in April.
The makers of Vishal-starrer action-drama Rathnam have already locked the release date as April 26. However, as per reports, it is now said that Sundar C’s Aranmanai 4 is also set to release on the same day. This means, two commercially well-known directors, Sundar C and Hari, are going to clash at the box office.
Aranmanai 4 is the fourth instalment in the horror comedy film franchise helmed by Sundar C. The upcoming film will have the director play the lead role along with Tamannaah Bhatia, Raashii Khanna, Santhosh Prathap, Ramachandra Raju, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, KS Ravikumar, Jayaprakash, VTV Ganesh, and others.
On the other hand, Rathnam is directed by Hari, and also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gautham Menon and others. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad and is produced by Stone Bench Films and Zee Studios.
What happened to Sundar C and Vishal’s Madha Gaja Raja?
While we are yet to see if Aranmanai 4 and Rathnam will indeed clash at the box office, it is to be noted that Sundar C had earlier made a film with Vishal titled Madha Gaja Raja. When asked about the unreleased film, Sundar C had recently said that even he is unclear about it and that the producer is unwilling to give up the film nor release it. The director also stressed that though the film was taken in 2013, it still holds enough content to entertain audience today.
