Sukhee: Shilpa Shetty reveals husband Raj Kundra encouraged her to work in Sonal Joshi's directorial when she didn't want to do it

Sukhee is the upcoming slice-of-life film starring Shilpa Shetty in the titular role. The Bollywood diva recently unveiled how her husband Raj Kundra encouraged her to take up Sonal Joshi's directorial when she was not in favour of doing it. The comedy-drama movie, which also stars Amit Sadh, Kusha Kapila, Pavleen Gujral, and Dilnaz Irani in key roles, is set to release next week.

In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Shilpa mentioned that she shares a great friendship with her husband Raj. The actress also said that her marriage is working because she married her best friend. Post that, she added how much Raj supports her personally as well as professionally. She also credited her success in the industry to him and mentioned that wherever she has reached in her work front is because Raj is a round husband.

Moving on, talking about her upcoming film, Shilpa unveiled that it's the story of a woman, who leaves everything for her boyfriend, gets married to him and moves to a new city leaving everything behind including her family and friends. In between conversations with Kannan, the diva also shared, "He (Raj) loves me as an artist. He feels I should go out there. In fact, he only nudged me to take up Sukhee as I was not going to work in the film."

Release date

Sukhee, which also has Chaitannya Choudhry and Jyoti Kapoor in key roles, is slated to release in theatres on September 22, 2023.
