It has been more than a decade since Sudipta Chakraborty worked on the small screen. About five years ago, she appeared in Big Boss Bangla. After a hiatus, the National Award-winning actress is all set to return to a cookery show, Rannaghorer Goppo.
Sudipta, who is known for being selective with her work, told Ei Samay, “Many channels offer me roles but I did not get anything agreeable so far. I love non-fiction shows. I have never done a cooking show before. Hence, I felt that I should try this offer.”
Rannaghorer Goppo will air daily, starting next Monday at 5 PM. How is the show different from the other cooking shows? “I don't watch the shows and hence, I can't comment on them. In my show, along with cooking and chatting, we will also present old and lost recipes to the audience. The recipes will be dishes that are going into oblivion with time. There will also be some of my special cooking tips,” said the actress.
After acting in films and running workshops on acting, can she give time? “I do workshops on the weekends. I don’t have to shoot every day. I can manage,” she said. Some 14 to 15 films are to be released where she is acting. Any updates on them? “I heard two films will be released in November. I am also waiting for their release,” she said.
How is Sudipta comfortable with cooking? “Of course, I can cook. But I do not have time to cook daily. Sometimes I make special dishes, or a dessert, something like that, for my daughter,” she replied.
