Pranav Mohanlal, the star kid-turned-actor recently made a comeback to the silver screen after a short gap, with the Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial Varshangalkku Shesham. The young actor’s performance in the film reminded the audiences of his legendary father Mohanlal, and his vintage films. Meanwhile, Pranav’s mother Suchitra Mohanlal recently opened up about her son’s career, and comparisons with his father, in a recent interview with Movie World Media YouTube channel.
In the recent interview, the popular star wife extensively spoke about Pranav Mohanlal’s career and revealed that they never forced the young actor to pursue a career in films. According to Suchitra Mohanlal, their family is in the film business right from the time of her father, veteran film producer K Balaji. Later, she married Mohanlal, and her brother Suresh Balaji also entered the industry as a producer. So naturally, cinema was a career option for Pranav also.
The star wife, who reacted to the initial flops in her son’s acting career, stated that it is bound to happen in cinema. However, Suchitra stated that it is unfair to compare Pranav with his legendary father Mohanlal. The proud wife remarked that the National award-winning actor was extremely convincing even in his debut film Manjil Virinja Pookkal, in which he played the antagonist. She also revealed that everybody, including her, hated Mohanlal after watching the Fazil directorial.
However, the doting mom added that not every actor can deliver that kind of performance in their initial films. Pranav Mohanlal’s mother further added that children learn to walk after falling many times, and it is a part of the process. As a parent, she wishes to be there for her son and guide him. However, Suchitra admitted that Pranav is like his father Mohanlal in his body language and features, and the comparisons are inevitable.
The star wife, who later opened up about Pranav Mohanlal’s collaboration with actor-filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan, stated that there is a great level of comfort between the duo. Suchitra Mohanlal revealed that she met Vineeth after a very long time when he came to narrate the story of Hridayam, even though she knows him from his childhood days. She added that Vineeth is a warm person, and he is like a family member now.
