JioCinema has made a big move by striking a deal with Warner Bros Discovery Inc. The deal will allow JioCinema to become the new home for all the popular shows of HBO, following the end of HBO's partnership with Disney+Hotstar in March .

This is a significant win for JioCinema, which has been aggressively expanding its market share in India. By securing the rights to HBO's shows, including popular titles such as Succession, House of The Dragon (Game of Thrones prequel spin-off), The Last of Us, The White Lotusthe and the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, JioCinema has gained a major advantage over its competitors.

The details of the JioCinema and Warner Bros deal are yet to be disclosed. However, it is expected that the agreement will bring in more subscribers to JioCinema.

JioCinema has been successful in securing popular streaming content earlier, too. The platform outbid its competitors for the streaming rights to the IPL cricket tournament and made the ongoing season free for everyone to stream.

The end of HBO's partnership with Disney+Hotstar left many subscribers disappointed. The fans of Succession have been eagerly anticipating the fourth and final season of the popular show, which debuted on March 26. The show, which follows the power struggle within the Roy family, has garnered a loyal following over the last three seasons. With the end of the series in sight, fans have been eagerly searching for ways to access the premier TV series.

JioCinema's move to take advantage of the situation is a positive development for Indian audiences. The availability of popular HBO shows on JioCinema will provide Indian viewers with more options for their entertainment needs.

JioCinema also owns the streaming fights to some of the much-awaited Indian movies including Varun Dhawan's Bhediya and Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan. Both movies were released last year but they are still not available for streaming.

Last week, fans of Bhediya were excited about its expected OTT release on JioCinema. However, their excitement turned into disappointment when the film was not made available on the platform.
