Subhash Ghai, a master storyteller, has left an incredible mark on Indian cinema with his iconic films such as Ram Lakhan and Pardes that continue to captivate the audience to this day. The filmmaker recently got extremely candid with Arbaaz Khan on his chat show and made some startling statements about actors such as Jackie Shroff, Shatrughan Sinha and even Shah Rukh Khan.
Recently in the trailer of actor Arbaaz Khan’s chat show—The Invincibles Series season 2, the 79-year-old filmmaker is seen sharing his perceptions about Jackie Shroff, Shatrughan Sinha, and Shah Rukh Khan.
While talking to the Dabangg actor, Ghai bluntly called Jackie Shroff a bad actor, Shatrughan Sinha an overconfident person, and his harmless disagreements with Shah Rukh Khan on the set of Pardes. He also described the many types of actors in the industry.
“Paanch kism ke actor hote hai sir. Ek hota hai non-actor, aur ek hota hai bad actor (There are five types of actors, one is non-actor, and another is bad actor). Bad actor was Jackie Shroff. Actor is Anil Kapoor. Overconfident hamesha Shatrughan Sinha the. Shatrughan ka sabse bada problem tha ki woh time pe kabhi nahi pahuchta tha. (Real actor is Anil Kapoor. Overconfident actor was Shatrughan. His biggest issue was that he was never on time)”, Subhash Ghai recounted.
Ghai and SRK worked in the romantic-musical drama, Pardes, in 1997. He revealed that the duo had their fair share of disagreements on the shooting set. Hence, he later decided that he would not work with current stars if he intended to make good films.
After slamming the superstars, Ghai talked about being called a ‘showman’ in the industry. He expressed his deep thoughts on how much he loathed being called by that word.
The veteran director has an impressive track record of helming numerous iconic films. Some of his popular movies include Ram Lakhan (1989), Khal Nayak (1993), Trimurti (1995), and Pardes (1997).
