Stree 2: Varun Dhawan's cameo confirmed in Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao's horror comedy

Stree, a horror comedy starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, was a sleeper blockbuster at the box office in 2017, earning in the neighbourhood of Rs 125 crore . Six years after Stree, it is now reported that Stree 2 is being prepared for floors at the Maddock Office in Khar. Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan are reportedly preparing to begin Stree 2 in July 2023.

“Stree is a game changer for everyone at Maddock and at this point in time, all the energies are invested to come up with an experience better than the first film. The script is almost locked and work is in progress on the dialogue draft. Stree 2 moves into the pre-production stage by April and the makers are targeting to take it on floors from July this year,” revealed a source close to the development told Pinkvilla. 

Adding to this is the news that Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor will return to the series for greater, more ambitious adventures.

In addition to the two stars, Varun Dhawan will make a cameo appearance in Stree 2 as Bhediya. The first horror movie in which characters begin to interject themselves into one another's stories is Stree 2. Although the Stree crew made a brief appearance in Bhediya as well, it was only at the end credits sequence and not during the actual screenplay, the source continued.
