Recently Shraddha Kapoor made headlines for overtaking India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi as she cast a spell, becoming the third most followed Indian on Instagram. The Stree 2 actress now has surpassed Priyanka Chopra Jonas to become the second most followed Indian on the platform after cricketer Virat Kohli.
Shraddha Kapoor is currently on cloud nine after the massive success of her recently released film, Stree 2. Also starring Rajkummar Rao, the film has now helped Shraddha surpass the global icon Priyanka Chopra to become the second most followed Indian on Instagram.
If we track it till today, August 24, Priyanka Chopra’s follower count is 91.8 Million while Kapoor’s followers stand at 91.9 Million. This also makes Shraddha the most-followed female in India as well as the most-followed Bollywood celebrity in the world. The top place is still held by none other than the star cricket Virat Kohli who has 270 Million followers on the social platform which showcases his massive fan following.

Meanwhile, talking about Stree 2, the film is directed by Amar Kaushik and was released in theatres on Independence Day, 2024. The film, which is a sequel to the successful movie Stree stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles. Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan have special cameos in the film. The film is written by Niren Bhatt.
Within 9 days, Stree 2's total collection stands at Rs 308.15 crore. At the ticket window, Amar Kaushik's Stree 2 locked horns with Nikkhil Advani's Vedaa starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh and Mudassar Aziz's Khel Khel Mein featuring Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal.
