Fans of Silambarasan were eagerly awaiting the release of Pathu Thala for quite some time. The gangster drama helmed by Obeli N Krishna finally hit the screens on March 30. What left them surprised and delighted even before it got released was the massive transformation the actor underwent physically in recent times.

It all began with a stylish picture of him clicked from Thailand going viral on social media. His new hairstyle, lean avatar and swag oozing appearance set the internet on fire. He even attended the audio launch of Pathu Thala in the same look, leaving many curious.

It was later known that he sported the new get-up for his role in STR 48 (tentative title) which has Desingh Periyasamy at its helm. The project which has Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International bankrolling it was officially announced a few weeks ago.

The title has been trending on Twitter since today morning and Twitterati has been intrigued about it. Many assumed that the makers have come up with a new update. However, the entire buzz behind STR 48 on Twitter was related to the star meeting a few fans of his.

Many pics of him posing with his die-hard admirers have been doing the rounds. Though Pathu Thala didn’t turn out to be a big hit, fans have pinned high hopes on STR 48, though more details on the movie are awaited.
