STR 48 – Pooja Hegde set to join Silambarasan TR’s period action film? All the updates are here

Silambarasan TR is back to being active in the Tamil film industry, with some promising projects in his kitty. As reported earlier, the popular star is joining hands with legendary actor Kamal Haasan for the latter’s upcoming production venture, which is helmed by Desingh Periyasamy. The much-awaited project, which marks Simbu’s 48th outing in Tamil cinema, has been tentatively titled STR 48.

The first-look poster for STR 48, which was revealed recently, immediately won the internet. Now, some unconfirmed reports suggest that popular actress Pooja Hegde is set to join the project.

Pooja Hegde to play the female lead in STR 48?

If the recent updates are to be believed, Pooja Hegde, who was last seen in the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer Beast, is set to return to Tamil cinema with the upcoming Desingh Periyasamy directorial. As per the reports, the makers of STR 48 have approached Pooja Hegde to play the female lead opposite Silambasaran TR in the highly anticipated project. The actress, who is currently in talks with the team, is expected to sign the dotted line very soon. In that case, the makers might soon announce the same with an official update.

STR 48: Here's what we know

From the highly promising first-look poster for STR 48, it is safe to assume that the team is planning to create a high-octane action film against a period-fantasy backdrop. The poster features leading man Silambarasan in two similar avatars, with long hairdos, facing each other. Going by the first look poster, there are high chances for the film to feature the talented actor in a double role. However, the makers have not reacted to these assumptions yet.

As reported earlier, the pre-production works of STR 48 are currently under progress at the Chennai office of production banner Raaj Kamal Films International. The grapevine suggests that director Desingh Periyasamy and the art department of the film are currently working with around 30 graphic artists to create the core design of the film. The untitled project is expected to go on floors very soon. Devi Sri Prasad might compose the music score for STR 48, which is produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.
