Shah Rukh Khan had excited fans into a stupor when he announced SRK+. In his post, Khan talked about how ‘something was about to happen’ in the OTT space and that SRK+ was ‘coming soon’. So, naturally, netizens interpreted the post as the star announcing the launch of his own OTT app by the name of SRK+. Anurag Kashyap’s tweet talking about how it was a dream come true for him to collaborate with Khan on his new OTT app seemed to have confirmed fans’ suspicions. If there was any room for doubt, it was cleared when good friend Salman Khan tweeted, congratulating Shah Rukh on his 'new OTT app' . Karan Johar also added fuel to the speculations saying that this will change the face of OTT.
But Khan was not done just yet, and a new Disney+Hotstar advert featuring him and Kashyap seemed to have given some clarity at last about the whole situation. In the clip, Kashyap is seen giving Khan suggestions on the kind of projects that could be a part of the content lineup on his new app. Each of Kashyap’s suggestions were very similar to the titles that are already available on Disney+Hotstar, leaving Khan dejected.

The new promo video seems to suggest that Khan’s announcement of SRK+ made on Tuesday was a promotional tactic to create buzz around Disney+Hotstar’s new advertisement campaign.
The advertisement was widely shared on Twitter, creating a frenzy amongst fans in anticipation. Ajay Devgn, Kashyap and Salman Khan shared the clip as well, with the latter praising Khan’s sense of humour. Devgn had teased that he would have released his web-series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness on SRK+ had he known about it earlier, and Khan asked if season 2 of Rudra could be released on SRK+ instead.
Meanwhile, Khan is currently keeping busy with shooting for his upcoming film Pathaan in Spain . Also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, Pathaan will be released on January 25, 2023.
