RRR made (approximately Rs 112 crore) in the USA when it was first released on March 25. We hear the tickets for the special screening of the original uncut version have been selling like hotcakes!

Produced by Danayya of DVV Entertainment, RRR revolves around the fictional tale of two Indian freedom fighters from the early 20th century–Alluri Sitarama (Ram Charan) and Kumaram Bheem, played by N T Rama Rao Jr.

Also featuring Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris, Shriya Saran, and others, RRR had music by MM Keeravaani and cinematography by KK Senthil Kumar.

The off-screen camaraderie between NTR and Ram Charan was among the reasons why they were chosen for RRR, Rajamouli told the Hindu. "In addition to their stardom and acting abilities, their camaraderie was an asset. Charan does not express emotions overtly and takes both good and bad news in his stride. NTR is a livewire and Bheem, in the script, is a man who does not hide his emotions. That also dictated why I felt they are apt for their roles."

Rajamouli said there is a lot of appreciation from the audience for RRR, but what has been "significantly different" was the number of western audiences liking the film. The filmmaker added, "This is the kind of thing I note, that many people are liking my film, so next time when I make a film, I should keep this in mind. I shouldn't let it bother me, weigh me down but think that there is a wider audience listening to your story. Not the numbers, but the love and appreciation from different audiences matters!"

Post-RRR, reports suggest that Rajamouli will be teaming up with Mahesh Babu.
