RRR, which was made over a span of three years, has done Telugus proud at several international fora to date. Now, the creators of the historical fiction drama are all set for national glory. The Jr NTR, Ram Charan went onto win honours across six categories at the 69th National Film Awards ceremony, announced recently. The award presentation ceremony was held in Delhi today.
Ahead of the presentation ceremony, SS Rajamouli spoke briefly to the media. Expressing his happiness about the film’s sixer at the prestigious event, the director shared, “Basically, I am a filmmaker who makes films for the audience, that’s my first aim. The awards are a bonus for me, frankly.” The filmmaker said he’s happier that the film’s technicians received their due for the contributions.
“When your film gets six awards on a national level and the hardwork, efforts of my technicians over years are recognised, obviously I feel very (very) happy about it,” he stated. Recalling a special moment associated with RRR, Rajamouli added, “I still remember the first day of release - lots of confidence, anxiety and mixed feelings. As the appreciation starts pouring in, no one can forget the first hours.”

Post its theatrical release, RRR is simultaneously streaming on three OTT platforms - Netflix (Hindi), Disney+ Hotstar and ZEE5 (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam). Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris and others. Post RRR, SS Rajamouli will be directing Mahesh Babu for an action adventure on the lines of Indiana Jones. The filming commences in 2024.
