Srikanth box office week 1: Rajkummar Rao starrer Srikanth hit the theatres on May 10. The film started its first day on a lower note by collecting only 2.25 crore at the box office, however, on its second day, the film picked up and collected 4.2 crore. On day 3, the film took another jump and collected 5.25 crore, taking its first weekend collection to 11.7 crore. However, the film then maintained a low and steady streak from weekdays by collecting
Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film also stars Jyothia, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. The film received positive reviews from the critics and has been appreciated by the audiences as well. Although, the strong word of mouth doesn't seem to work much for the film post the first weekend. The film remained steady on days 5, 6, and 7 by collecting Rs 1.65 crore, Rs 1.6 crore, and Rs 1.45 crore. The total collection of the first week of the film now stands at Rs 17.90 crore, according to Sacnilk.com.
Srikanth has an overall Hindi occupancy of 10.24%. If the film continues its pace, it is expected to reach 40 crore as its lifetime collection at the ticket window.
Srikanth is based on the real-life story of industrialist Srikanth Bolla, who defies all odds to carve his path to success despite being visually impaired. He also provided employment to unskilled and differently-abled individuals. Rajkummar plays him in the film and has been appreciated for his acting. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani.
Earlier, Alaya opened up about working with Rajkummar for the first time and told News18 Showsha, “He’s just so in character – he’s so invested in acting. It’s incredible. I mean, it’s a masterclass watching him do what he does. He’s also really, really sweet, kind, and a lovely person. So, it was great working with him!”
