Not long ago, when Roaring Star Sriimurali was shooting for Madhagaja, he had sustained an injury on his leg during an action sequence. A ligament tear that he sustained on the set had kept him out of action for a while and now, we hear, that the actor has injured the same leg. Sriimurali was shooting for a high-octane action sequence of his latest, Bagheera, when a mistimed move caused an injury to his ankle. A source says that the actor has a minor fracture, which needs surgical remedial. The surgery is likely to happen soon, but Sriimurali may have to rest the leg for at least three-four weeks thereafter.
Considering that the action sequence was part of the final leg of the Dr Suri directorial, the schedule will be delayed until Sriimurali is okay to resume shooting. Bagheera is the actor’s first film with Hombale Films. Based on a story by Ugramm and KGF maker Prashant Neel, the film has Sriimurali playing a rugged cop. He is paired with Rukmini Vasanth in the film, which has been shot in locations across Mangaluru, Bengaluru and Goa, among others. The first-look poster of the film had the tagline 'When society becomes a jungle… and only one predator roars for justice’. During the muhurtha of Bagheera, Sriimurali had said that it is one of the best films that has come his way and what made it extra special is that Prashant, who understands the actor’s strengths and weaknesses, has written the story. The plan, he said, was to make Kannada audiences proud of Bagheera.
Dr Suri, who was to collaborate with Sriimurali earlier on a boxing movie, was roped in to bring Prashant’s vision to life, as the latter has been busy with his debut Telugu film, Salaar, with Prabhas, following which he has a film with NTR Jr.
