The way the anticipation is already massive and is still shaping up to be crazier for Squid Game Season 3 is insane. There is no single day without someone consequential talking about the show. On days there is no one, someone from the team comes out, gives fodder to the fans, teases them, and disappears, leaving us with the curiosity. Most recently, it was the creator Hwang Dong-hyuk who ended up revealing that Netflix and he are actually bouncing off ideas for a spin-off show that they would want to explore after the show ends with Season 3. Now actor Lee Seo-hwan has taken the responsibility and given a dark theory about where Gi-hun goes in Season 3, and this might end up giving you sleepless nights.
In case you do not recall, Lee Seo-hwan plays Park Jung-bae in Season One and Two. The second season ends with his death, and Gi-hun loses all hope as he is his closest friend. Park, as a character, has been very pivotal to the story, and his death means something will change in Gi-hun drastically. Now, as per Screen Rant, Lee Seo-hwan has proposed his theory about what might happen in the third season, and it is dark. He says that Gi-hun might go against the players and seek revenge from them because he has lost all hope.
“I know nothing about Season 3, but as a viewer and a fan myself, I think there could be three possibilities. One would be Gi-hun losing all hope, and the second, him becoming even more vengeful. But the third possibility would be him becoming vengeful towards the players, not the people behind the game. If I were Jung-bae, I think it would be most heartbreaking to see Gi-hun go all vengeful and spiteful towards the players.”

Squid Game Season 3 is already on track, already shot, and is in post-production. So now Hwang Dong-hyuk has said that they are actually tossing around ideas for a spin-off for Squid Game, and it is an exciting one. So the said spin-off will be about The Front Man and the Recruiter, who is now dead in the present timeline. However, what is more interesting is when the show will be set. Hwang revealed how the gap between Season 1 and Season 2 is that of three long years, and that gives enough room to the team to imagine everything that happened in those three years and what the two did in those.
“One of the ideas I’m tossing around is what happened between Season One and Two. There’s a three-year gap. So, for example, what was the Front Man doing during those three years? What was the Recruiter doing? When I have some downtime, I like to just toss some ideas around and go wild with my imagination. So I guess we can be open to anything,” Hwang Dong-hyuk said as per Screen Rant.
Meanwhile, Netflix Korea on their YouTube channel shared a teaser of Squid Game Season 3. The teaser featured the iconic girl robot, Young-hee, who is transported to a new location, where she is kept face-to-face with the new boy robot, Chul-soo. It was in this video where they accidentally announced the release date of the show, and it said it is June 27. The streaming giant has pulled back the video since then, but that doesn't mean the eagle-eyed netizens did not take screenshots of the same.
