This led to more curiosity, and everyone was curious to know when exactly in 2025 the show would return for the one final season. Squid Game 3 Release Date ‘Accidentally’ Announced?

Squid Game is one of the most popular streaming shows across the globe and one that has created history for a non-English offering. The second season debuted with 68 million views, breaking the record of the all-time watched Non-English TV list. The achievements are many, and the anticipation for more is very high. Now, as per an accidentally released video by Netflix, the show is set to return with the third season in June 2025, and below is everything you need to know about the same.

Netflix Korea, on their YouTube channel, shared a teaser of Squid Game Season 3. The teaser featured the iconic girl robot, Young-hee, who is transported to a new location, where she is kept face-to-face with the new boy robot, Chul-soo. It was in this video that they accidentally announced the release date of the show, and it said it is June 27. The streaming giant has pulled back the video since then, but that doesn't mean the eagle-eyed netizens did not take screenshots of the same.

Squid Game Season 3 Update

In case you were unaware, do not move away when the end credits roll after the finale of Squid Game Season 2. There is a hidden mid-credit scene that takes us to Season 3, and we will dissect that in this write-up below. What it actually does is set up Season 3 of Squid Game and confirm that the show will return in the later months of 2025. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has now spoken about what to expect from the show and revealed how Seong Gi-hun will not be the same man you have seen in Season 2 but a completely different person. Read on to know everything you should about the same.

Talking to Variety about when and what should we expect from Squid Game Season 3, Hwang Dong-hyuk said, “At this point, anything I might say is going to be a spoiler, so I want to be cautious. But what I can say is, after Season 2 launches, I believe we will be announcing the launch date for Season 3 soon. I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year.”

Talking about the storyline of Squid Game Season 3, he added, “But as for the storyline of the third season, Gi-hun, having lost everything, including his best friend, and all of his attempts going to failure, it’s now, what is he going to be like? What state is Gi-hun going to be in? And what will he choose to do? Will he continue on with the mission? Is he going to give up or persist? And so you’re going to meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season. Gi-hun will not be the man he was in Season 2.”
