Netflix’s hit show Squid Game season 2 is at a state of Red Light, Green Light. The streaming platform has commented on the chances of the show returning for a second season.
In an interview with The Vulture, Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s head of Global TV, talked about the potential return of the Korean survival drama series.
While she says there is nothing solid in the works, they are ready to work on it according to director Dong-hyuk’s schedule.
“He has a film and other things he’s working on. We’re trying to figure out the right structure for him.” said Bajaria.
With Squid Game turning out being the most-watched and talked about show, and it’s ending on a cliffhanger has raised questions about its second instalment. The news that Netflix is at least considering a possible return should let fans rest easy.
From it’s dystopian-setting to all the violence and gore, the show has struck a chord with the audience. With viewers across the globe binge-watching the nine-episode series that gave children's games a violent twist, Netflix has once again hit the jackpot.
Written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the show follows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), as he enters a competition to play games at the promise of a handsome sum of money. The competition of six childrens games soon turns into a horror show with death as the penalty for failure.
Squid Game is streaming on Netflix.
