It is of no one’s surprise that the most-awaited threequel of Tom Holland’s MCU Spidey is totally tearing it up overseas. While Spider-Man: No Way Home is yet to hit the domestic market, it debuted early in some markets, and is currently racking up huge numbers in those territories.
As per the initial reports emerging from Korea, the movie landed a $5.28 million opening, according to Deadline. The figure is notable as it is 11% more than the last Spidey title, and it is the biggest day-one collection for a film released after pandemic. It is also to be noted that the country was the second-largest international market after China for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Figures reported from the UK are also a reaffirmation of the movie’s success. Bowing at $10.1 million, it could be hailed as the best launch of all time in the territory. It has also surpassed the collection of the James Bond movie, No Time To Die, which earned $6.6 million.
Marking the film’s global success, it is also tapping further into the international markets. It grabbed $9 million in Mexico, which tops the country’s best ever opening after Avengers: Endgame. The numbers were $4.3 million in France, which is 2% more than the Infinity War. The film has logged the third best opening day number in Russia, with $3.5 million. Moving to the Mediterranean, Sony has cracked the best ever opening day in Italy with $3.4 million earnings.
The title making big numbers is huge in this pandemic era, particularly with the outbreak of the new variant. But the movie seems to have just started its extraordinary journey, with it already being tagged as the best of MCU Spideys till date.
