There is so much buzz around Spider-Man 4 at this point that it is getting tougher by the day to keep track of all the rumors and speculations about the project. And this is when the studio has yet to confirm the project and provide an update on its status. One can only imagine the intensity with which the fans will react once the studio confirms it. The last few days have brought about a rumor a week regarding the fourth film and the beginning of the new trilogy starring Tom Holland. However, this week the record has been broken, as we have the second rumor about the movie and it is just Tuesday. According to the latest update, Marvel Cinematic Universe bosses are now planning to make a drastic change in a key element of the movie.
For the uninitiated, the buzz around Spider-Man 4 came to the limelight right after the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which streams on Sony LIV in India. But the speculative updates around the same started ramping up more recently. The movie, according to reports, will continue to feature Tom Holland and will mark the beginning of his new trilogy. However, reports have said that Jon Watts will not be associated with the project anymore. The latest rumor, however, talks about an even bigger change. Read on to know what that is and everything about it.
According to the latest scoop from scooper My Time To Shine Hello on X (formerly called Twitter), Marvel Studios is planning to go back to the films that were made about Peter Parker before they took the mantle for one key element. And that key element is the web-slinging abilities. The makers are planning to introduce more dramatic web-slinging abilities to the MCU Spider-Man, very similar to the ones we saw before the MCU trilogy. This means we are going back to the web-slinging vibe of the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield films.
However, there is no confirmation on this, and everything at this point must be taken with a pinch of salt. Considering Spider-Man 4 is reportedly moving towards exploring Tom Holland’s Peter Parker’s loneliness and how he copes with it, adding more drama to the visuals only makes more sense as he is no longer the vibrant neighborhood superhero learning the ways of being one.
Yesterday, scooper MCM Culture said that Spider-Man 4 will have Tom Holland’s Peter Parker suffer from PTSD as he deals with the trauma of losing everything that was dear to him. First Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, then Aunt May in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and also with Zendaya’s MJ forgetting him, the grief is intense. We will see him take refuge in vigilantism to move on. There are also reports that Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin will return and there will also be Venom but not as the main villain.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now streaming on SonyLIV and you can watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
