You could hate the superhero culture and be completely against it, but you cannot be unaware of who Spider-Man is or what his superpowers are. The demand for the web-slinging superhero has been massive since the days of the comics, and when he made his way to the live-action world, his reception was monstrous, even when compared to current standards. Back in the early 2000s, the first Spider-Man movie went on to do business of over $800 million worldwide, which is a tall order even today.

It was Tobey Maguire who went on to be the first live-action Peter Parker, and fans across the globe were celebrating his entry into the world of superheroes. The actor is still considered to be the best Spider-Man by many. But did you know that the third movie with him in it was actually slammed by critics and audiences?

Spider-Man 3 Gets A New Life

Well, the Spider-Man Trilogy by Sam Raimi, with Tobey Maguire leading it, is loved and has garnered some very extreme reactions from the audience. While the first two were massive hits and the second is still considered as the best and most humane Spider-Man movie, the third one was called the weakest of them all and the weakest Sam Raimi movie. But, as it turns out, it has now gotten a new life, and there is an audience actually appreciating it in the West. Read on to know everything you should about this interesting update.

Clearing the biggest doubt, Spider-Man 3 starring Tobey Maguire was not a flop. With the anticipation from the first two movies and the brilliance of the second, the third managed to pull a monstrous number of people, leading to a box office that reached $895 million. Which means monetarily, the movie was very much a success story. However, the audience and critics' reception is where the movie failed. But now, there is a ray of hope for the Sam Raimi directorial, which has now been re-released.

All the Spider-Man films are getting a re-release in the West. Right now, the Tobey Maguire trilogy is having its moment, with Andrew Garfield’s set to follow. Spider-Man 3, regarded as the weakest film of the franchise, was re-released on April 29 and has been drawing audiences to the theater until now. As per Collider, the Threequel has earned $760,000 from 466 domestic theaters on Monday. It has surpassed Spider-Man, which earned $681,000, and is just behind Spider-Man 2, which earned $805,000. Which means audiences have now given the infamous Raimi film a new life.

About Spider-Man 3:
